Global Health Chronicles
The Global Health Chronicles website documents the historic and successful battle that public health professionals waged against deadly diseases such as smallpox, guinea worm, and malaria. Materials in the archive include:
- oral histories of epidemiologists, operations officers, their spouses, and children who worked to eradicate these diseases,
- previously unpublished field reports and pictures,
- digitized books on the history of smallpox eradication,
- seminars by the leaders of the global program to eradicate smallpox.
The massive effort to collect and preserve the data in the Global Health Chronicles is a collaborative endeavor of Emory University Libraries, the Emory Global Health Institute, the Rollins School of Public Health, the CDC, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
