Faculty Seed Grants

EGHI awards seed grants to Emory faculty who are committed to developing and implementing high-quality research that results in new academic knowledge and innovative solutions to global health challenges.

Global Health Scholars Program

EGHI offers the Global Health Scholars Program to provide financial and technical assistance for student field experiences supporting faculty-led global health research projects. Scholars work within multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with in-country peers and partner organizations around the world on innovative learning projects. This experiential program helps shape Emory’s global health researchers and future leaders.

Global Health Case Competitions

EGHI hosts two annual competitions that allow students to display leadership skills and innovative thinking in finding solutions to 21st-century global health issues. The intramural competition is open exclusively to Emory students looking to showcase their knowledge, while the international competition brings student teams from across the U.S. and around the world to compete.

Treatment Research and Expert Education (TREE)

TREE is dedicated to addressing the health needs of people living in resource-limited settings through quality medical care, academic research, training, and education. TREE is headquartered at EGHI and supports opportunities for Emory to engage in bidirectional exchange and ownership of knowledge and expertise, implementation of innovative research, accessible academic training, and delivery of compassionate practice.

Jeffrey P. Koplan Award

Named in honor of EGHI founder and former U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Jeffrey P. Koplan, MD, MPH, this endowed award celebrates Emory University’s innovative students, faculty, or staff as they lead change in a relentless pursuit to improve global health and health equity. EGHI announced the creation of the Jeffrey P. Koplan Global Health Award in November of 2022 and named its inaugural recipient.
