Apply to Intramural Emory Global Health Case Competition

Each year Emory students from multiple disciplines apply to participate in the Intramural Emory Global Health Case competition. The immersive learning event offers participants an opportunity to tackle a critical global health challenge in both a competitive and collaborative environment.

Application Period: November 4 - December 20, 2024

Apply

For the 2025 competition, applications will be accepted from 12:00 PM (ET) Monday, November 4, until 5:00 PM (ET) Monday, December 20, 2024.

The application link will be activated at 12:00 PM (ET) on November 4, 2024.

EGHI will communicate with each team regarding its application status once the application period closes. There is no fee to apply. For questions, email eghi@emory.edu

Four to six students compose a team, and students must represent at least three different Emory schools. All Emory University students are welcome, including undergraduates from Emory College and Oxford College, graduate students from all seven graduate and professional schools, Emory medical residents, and Emory post-doctoral fellows.

There is no cost to apply or to participate in this competition.

Team members present their case solution in person, before a panel of expert judges, and address judges’ questions during an 8-minute Q&A. Each team must submit a slide deck of their 12-minute presentation and a one-page executive summary of their solution.

During the competition week, teams are free to work independently on their case solutions and submit questions about the case. Each team meets virtually for one hour with a case advisor, who takes questions and provides feedback to the team. Team members may consult other subject matter experts to inform their research but must generate their own case solution ideas.

The case subject is announced to all registered teams eight days before the competition. The case may include issues such as healthcare policy, public health implementation and planning, business partnership/investment, medical research, international development, logistics and management, faith/cultural understanding, international law, and other disciplines. To view past case subjects, see Case Competition Summaries.
