Programs
EGHI elevates Emory’s eminence and collaboration with diverse partners to advance global health equity.
Preparing the Next Generation of Global Health Leaders
EGHI helps Emory students flourish by providing experiential learning experiences focused on understanding and addressing current and critical global health challenges. Students engage across disciplines with peers and experts from around the world to participate in global health competitions, field research, advisory councils, and training.
Elevating Faculty Eminence
Since 2007, EGHI has funded more than 70 Faculty Seed Grants totaling more than $7 million. EGHI also offers Rapid Response funds to faculty who conduct urgent, short-term research to close critical gaps in knowledge and inform global policy and practice. These programs also enhance learning for students.
Defining Equitable Partnerships
EGHI provides leadership across Emory and within our partnerships to inform equitable practices in global health research and international programs. To improve health equity around the world and sustain global health achievements, EGHI funds and conducts research and training with partners that addresses knowledge and capacity gaps and informs improvements in global health policy and practice.
Leading Fellowships and Councils
EGHI enhances student and faculty engagement in global health through its advisory committees, councils, and fellowship programs. We foster peer-to-peer exchange, growth, and professional development by bringing global health experts and partners to Emory and elevating Emory’s eminence to collaborate on current and emerging challenges.
Awarding Emory Excellence and Honoring our History
The Jeffrey P. Koplan Global Health Award is named in honor of EGHI founder and former Director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Jeffrey P. Koplan, MD, MPH. This endowed award celebrates an Emory student, faculty, or staff who leads change in a relentless pursuit to improve global health and health equity.
