Shelly Terrazas, MS, MBA

Shelly Terrazas is the Emory Global Health Institute's Senior Administrator. In this role, Ms. Terrazas manages business and administrative operations of EGHI, along with the implementation of strategic programmatic activities.

Ms. Terrazas has over 18 years of program management and development experience in a variety of settings.  Prior to joining the Emory Global Health Institute, she was an Assistant Director at The Carter Center for eight years, overseeing the Ethiopia Public Health Training Initiative (EPHTI) and the Liberia Mental Health Initiative programs.  While at The Carter Center, Ms. Terrazas managed the development, implementation, and monitoring of project activities for both initiatives.  Her responsibilities included liaising and collaborating with international colleagues and partners of the programs, management of program grants, assistance in the compilation of data, reports, papers, proposals, and budgets, and designing and implementing special projects on behalf of the initiatives.  In 2001, Ms. Terrazas was program administrator for the Islam and Human Rights Fellowship Program at Emory School of Law, overseeing all aspects of the program in the areas of finance, administration, personnel, research, and public relations.  She has also worked at the Georgia Institute of Technology in program and grant management.

Ms. Terrazas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in international affairs from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, and her Master of Science degree in international affairs from the Georgia Institute of Technology.  She received a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in healthcare administration from Georgia State University.
