gh topics insetWhile many EGHI projects involve new and advancing technology, one project conducted by Michael Prietula utilized computer technology in HIV prevention.


Michael Prietula, Professor of Information Systems and Operations Management at the Goizueta Business School, received a 2008 EGHI Seed Grant to conduct a project entitled One Laptop per Child Public Health Intervention. The purpose of this project was to design and develop a technology based HIV prevention intervention for children and youth in Kenya. Emory collaborated with the Carnegie Mellon University's Entertainment Technology Center to design an effective and culturally appropriate intervention called LIVE©.
