Injury Prevention and Violence

gh topics insetEGHI supports Emory faculty and students addressing injury prevention and violence issues around the world. Specific projects focus on a variety of topics including violence in post-conflict societies, trauma care, and injury control.


Addressing Sexual Violence in Post-Conflict Liberia: Community Approaches, 2012 Student Field Scholar Project.


Scott Sasser, Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine, received a 2008 EGHI Seed Grant entitled Injury Control Research Center in Mozambique. The primary purpose of this project was to support the development of a multidisciplinary injury control research center in Mozambique by hosting a workshop to define its structure, research agenda, and strategic plan.
