Health Care Delivery

zambia insetJana MacLeod, Assistant Professor at the Emory University School of Medicine, received a 2008 EGHI Seed Grant to conduct a project entitled Trainee Workshop: Acute Care and Fundamental Critical Care. In collaboration with the College of Surgeons of East, Central, and Southern Africa (COSECSA), project investigators implemented two one-week workshops for all present COSECSA surgical trainees in: 1) acute trauma care of the multiply injured patient and 2) specialized care of the critically ill surgical patient.

Infectious Diseases

Henry Blumberg, Professor of Medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine, received a 2007 EGHI Partnership Program Grant to develop the Zambia-Emory Research Initiative in Tuberculosis and TB/HIV in partnership with the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka, Zambia, and the University of Zambia School of Medicine.
