Environmental Health

madagascar insetThomas Gillespie, Associate Professor of Environmental Studies at Emory College and an EGHI Faculty Distinction Fund Awardee, is conducting a study examining the epidemiology and ecology of zoonotic and waterborne disease in poor rural communities at the interface  with a high biodiversity natural system in Ranomafana, Madagascar. He is working in collaboration with Stony Brook University, Centre Val Bio, the Malgasy Ministry of Health, and the Institute Pasteur. The project integrates the newly initiated regional primary healthcare improvement program, which is guided by Partners in Health.
